Equity

Because of racism, poverty, and other social and economic injustices, communities of color and low-income communities in our society experience many adverse health outcomes. Recognizing and addressing these factors is critically important for solving complex public health problems and ensuring that all populations in the United States achieve optimal health. Equity issues are salient in all five challenges addressed by the Bloomberg American Health Initiative.
