Yeeli Mui, PhD, MPH, is a Bloomberg Assistant Professor of American Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work focuses on structural solutions to advance food security and healthy diets, using urban policy and planning as a lens. She applies systems science to help communities uncover root causes of complex challenges—such as urban food insecurity, participation in federal nutrition programs in Indigenous communities, and healthy hydration norms—and looks at how planning tools, policies, and processes can be leveraged to translate systems thinking into systems solutions. Yeeli earned her PhD in Nutrition from Johns Hopkins, MPH in Health Policy from the Yale School of Public Health, and completed postdoctoral training in food systems planning at the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning.
