Terry Yau

Current Fellow

Terry Yau joined the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation in 2024 as a Data and Evaluation Program Coordinator, where she supports the organization’s program implementation through data analysis and quality assurance processes. Her interest in data and its ability to drive positive change in non-profit organizations was fostered during her time at the MERIT Health Leadership Academy, where her role as the Program and Operations Manager required updating data systems for program evaluation and staff accountability purposes. She is excited to take the analysis skills she learned at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and utilize them in telling the story of Safe at Home’s impact and outcomes.

The Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation aims to support young people and their communities to create a world that is free from harm. Through their Margaret’s Place Program, counselors and therapists are placed across school sites in New York, California, and Ohio to support children impacted by trauma. Through age-appropriate education and therapeutic interventions, Safe at Home promotes individual healing and teaches young people and the broader community how to care for themselves and others. Their goal is to empower the next generation to be safer and braver, together.
