Shaivi Herur is a project associate at JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. in Washington, D.C. She applies research and evaluation methods to federal and state-wide public health projects within JSI’s domestic substance use, HIV-infectious disease, and environmental health portfolios. In her work related to addiction and overdose, she supports needs assessments with treatment providers to analyze gaps in opioid treatment provision and data quality across Massachusetts. She has conducted patient experience research among caregivers for substance-exposed newborns and clients of State Departments of Mental Health. Shaivi is passionate about patient centricity, cultural competency, and health equity as key enablers of long-term success and retention in care. She hopes to continue exploring innovations that effectively mobilize the healthcare workforce, reduce workforce burden, and improve patient care.
