Rayce Samuelson

Rayce Samuelson is an Overdose Prevention Specialist - Responsible Person in Charge at OnPoint NYC, a harm reduction organization providing low-barrier services to people who use drugs. In November 2021, Rayce was part of the team that opened the first Overdose Prevention Center in the United States, a facility that allows individuals to safely consume illicit substances in a monitored environment. Rayce became the first manager of the site, supervising a team to prevent and reverse overdose, educate on safer drug use practices, and provide internal and external referrals for ongoing services. Rayce is a spokesperson and advocate for the importance of this life-saving harm reduction strategy to government officials and international media outlets.  

OnPoint NYC is a non-profit, harm reduction organization that is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of marginalized people who use drugs or engage in sex work in New York, New York. OnPoint NYC made history in November 2021 by opening the first two Overdose Prevention Centers in the United States. In addition to these groundbreaking sites, OnPoint NYC provides holistic, wraparound care to assist their participants, including access to medical care, case management, drop-in centers, mental health and social work, and many other vital resources.
