McKenzie Taylor is general dentist at The Wright Center for Community Health and Graduate Medical Education. She also serves as faculty with the NYU Langone Health’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. Her responsibilities include full time patient care, lectures to dental and medical residents, and community speaking events and outreach. She works with patients in active addiction, in recovery, and patients using medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. Her organization has dental, primary care, behavioral health, and onsite addiction services. She is interested in exploring treatment methods for sequelae of medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. Her organization is making sure medical and dental students and residents are well equipped to treat these patients.

Headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania, The Wright Center for Community Health’s growing network of community health centers in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, and Wyoming counties, including a mobile medical and dental unit called Driving Better Health, provides affordable, high-quality, whole-person primary health services to everyone, regardless of insurance status, ZIP code, or ability to pay. Patients typically have the convenience of going to a single location to access integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care, as well as community-based addiction treatment and recovery services.
