Matthew Feltrop-Herron is the Executive Director of A Longer Table, where he leads a system-level approach that makes school food central to student wellness and community impact. Since 2013, he has expanded the organization’s reach exponentially and helped schools serve thousands of students with fresh, culturally relevant meals while strengthening partnerships and improving infrastructure.

A Longer Table serves youth today and builds food leaders for tomorrow. Its Next Course Cafeterias program functions as a public health platform in schools, addressing hunger and building trust through community-rooted foodservice. The Food Fellowship extends this work by preparing high school students for future careers in the food system. The work in school cafeterias supports daily meals and student-led design. It drives participation, reduces waste, and creates thriving-wage jobs — showing what’s possible when school food works as hard as the students it serves.
