Martin Peters

Bloomberg Fellow

Martin Peters serves as General Counsel for Eckerd Connects, where he leads the organization’s legal and human resources strategy and provides counsel on a wide range of regulatory, contractual, and enterprise risk matters. Since joining the organization in 2008, Martin has held leadership roles across procurement, contract management, and government affairs, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to his legal work. His portfolio includes contract formation and compliance, risk mitigation, and advising executive leadership on legal issues that impact operations and mission delivery. In addition to his role at Eckerd Connects, Martin was elected to the Board of Great Kids, Inc. in October 2025, supporting evidence-based programs that strengthen families and promote child well-being. Martin’s professional career is guided by his experience as a foster and now adoptive father.

Family has always been central to the mission of Eckerd Connects. Founded in 1968 by Jack and Ruth Eckerd with a vision to serve children and families in rural Florida, the organization began with a simple but powerful commitment: “It’s the kids.” That guiding principle continues to shape Eckerd Connects today. Over five decades later, the organization has grown into a national network operating in 20 states, offering a continuum of services including foster care, workforce development, Job Corps, homelessness prevention, and transitional support for youth. At its core, Eckerd Connects remains dedicated to strengthening families and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations through evidence-based, community-driven solutions.
