Lucía Zegarra is a public health leader with over 20 years of experience in community development. As Community Impact Director for the American Heart Association in the Greater Washington Region, she leads efforts in hypertension control, nutrition security, CPR readiness, and tobacco cessation. She works with clinics and community organizations to enhance health outcomes, especially in underserved areas. Beyond her professional work, Lucía chairs the board of Community FarmShare, co-chairs the Latin American Advisory Group to the Montgomery County Executive and formerly led the Health Committee for the Maryland-Piura Sister States, fostering international health relationships. Her approach emphasizes cultural humility, advocacy, and systems change to achieve lasting community impact.
