Lauran Larson

Bloomberg Fellow

Lauran is the Senior Manager of Food and Health at Hunger Free Oklahoma. In this role, she co-leads the Oklahoma Food is Medicine Coalition and focuses on addressing nutrition security through collaborative efforts across the state. Lauran works closely with multi-sectoral organizations to develop and implement innovative strategies that improve access to healthy, affordable food, particularly for underserved communities. She is committed to bringing a lived experience lens to all her work, ensuring that the voices and insights of those directly affected by food insecurity inform program design and implementation. Lauran also plays a key role in uplifting federal food assistance programs like WIC and SNAP, working to increase awareness and reduce barriers to access.

Hunger Free Oklahoma brings together public and private organizations to collaboratively solve food insecurity challenges. By leveraging data, partnerships, and innovative solutions, Hunger Free Oklahoma aims to ensure equitable access to nutritious food for all Oklahomans. The organization focuses on driving systems-level change by addressing the root causes of hunger, advocating for policy improvements, and improving food program participation through strategic outreach and community engagement.
