She/Her

Bloomberg Fellow

Kizzy Williams has been working in the field addressing issues related to human trafficking and working towards systemic changes for over 20 years. Recognized as a trailblazer, Kizzy worked with survivors she served, community groups, and her local trafficking coalition to lay the groundwork for the anti-trafficking work in her area. Honored as a Champion for Human Rights & Social Justice (HTSJI), Kizzy continues to support her community through direct services, advocacy, community engagement, program development, and technical assistance to providers. Kizzy has spent years in her work advocating for policy change, participating in research, prevention, and education efforts such as community outreach and speaking events. As Senior Client Advocate at Advocating Opportunity, she delivers and supervises legal advocacy services, with expertise in serving youth and trafficking prevention.

Advocating Opportunity (AO), grounded in a human rights-based, client-led approach, provides trauma-informed legal and advocacy services to survivors of human trafficking. AO empowers clients, meeting them where they are, through autonomy and holistic care, reducing barriers to justice. AO supports clients long-term, remaining engaged as clients work to navigate often complex systems such as the courts, hospitals, and other social services. AO is often court appointed to provide advocacy and support to trafficked and exploited minors as they work to heal from their trafficking experiences.
AO services follow the Resilience ModelĀ©, a research-backed framework designed to counteract trauma (ACEs), foster resilience, and prevent future harm. AO continues to work creating innovative solutions and building partnerships to improve community responses to those affected by trafficking.
