Kimberly Gutierrez

Kimberly Gutierrez is the Associate Director of Coalitions at the Giffords Center for Violence Intervention, where she organizes cross-functional, state-based partners to advance community-driven solutions to everyday gun violence. Her work focuses on building coalitions, strengthening partnerships, and supporting advocacy efforts that expand investment in community violence intervention strategies across the country. Prior to joining Giffords, Gutierrez led Community Justice’s program department, helping guide local, state, and federal campaigns to increase public funding for community violence intervention programs. Her work centered on elevating the voices and leadership of community members most impacted by gun violence and advancing policies rooted in prevention, healing, and long-term community safety.

Led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the team brings decades of political, legal, and policy expertise to the fight for gun safety. The Giffords Center for Violence Intervention supports non-punitive, community-led strategies that reduce violence, strengthen local infrastructure, and build lasting safety. Its work is guided by five core pillars: community partnership, coalition building, policy advocacy, survivor advocacy, and an annual community violence intervention conference, all aimed at creating sustainable and collaborative impact. Together, these efforts help build collaborative strategies that support safer communities.
