The Smith Child Health Outcomes, Research, and Evaluation Center serves as a scientific home and vibrant community for researchers dedicated to community, population health, and outcomes research. As a think tank for collaboration and intellectual exchange, we challenge one another to pursue innovative and novel approaches, always with a focus on equity and marginalized populations. Our work aims to create meaningful impact, enabling all those we serve to experience the joy of childhood, the love of families, and the strength of community.

Smith Child Health Catalyst is a service core, leading innovation at the intersection of pediatric research and child health. We are dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children and their families by partnering with academic, healthcare, community and industry clients. Together, we leverage mixed methods and data-driven strategies to discover answers to pressing questions and catalyze influential change. Centering equity in our mission, we strive to ensure our findings authentically represent the views of communities affected by the topics we seek to understand. Our multidisciplinary team consists of experienced faculty and research professionals from Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Our expertise includes human-centered design, user experience, social science, community-engaged research, implementation science, and program evaluation. We engage with clients across all stages of work, from co-development of proposals through the dissemination of findings.
