Jay Franzone

Bloomberg Fellow

Jay Franzone supports National Partnerships and Latinx Engagement at Everytown for Gun Safety, based in New York, New York, blending his public health advocacy experience with a passion for community organizing. Jay has a track record of tackling discriminatory policies, notably contributing to the reversal of the federal ban on blood donations from gay men. At Everytown for Gun Safety, Jay focuses on strengthening connections within the Latinx community and creating partnerships that promote safety and increase awareness. His work includes leading the translation process and supporting the organization towards language equity. Jay works to ensure his principals are positioned to lead conferences and keynote presentations, ensuring the Latinx community knows the impact of gun violence across the nation. Engaging the Latinx community at the grassroots level and across priority states, Jay empowers and coaches Latinx volunteers nationwide, supporting organizing staff with essential tools to support Latinx supporters effectively. His efforts are rooted in a steadfast belief in the power of community-driven solutions and equitable justice. 

Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund (the “Everytown Support Fund”) is the education, research, and litigation arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than 10 million supporters and more than 700,000 donors. The Everytown Support Fund seeks to improve our understanding of the causes of gun violence and help to reduce it by conducting groundbreaking original research, developing evidence-based policies, communicating this knowledge to the American public, and advancing gun safety and gun violence prevention in communities and the courts.
