Janie Cambron

Bloomberg Fellow

Janie Cambron serves as the Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Workforce Development for the University of Kentucky, College of Public Health (UKCPH). Her responsibilities include being a liaison to the public health practice community, providing service to those within the public health system through specific grants and contracts, and developing and overseeing student experiential learning. Janie works to develop students to be career ready, and also collaborates with those currently in the workforce on assessment, gap analysis, and linkage to training opportunities. She also helps students identify practicum placements, connects them to career opportunities and promotes professional development. Before coming to academia, Janie was employed at local and state public health agencies for over 16 years and previously served as the Quality Improvement Coordinator in the Commissioner’s Office at the Kentucky Department for Public Health.   

The University of Kentucky College of Public Health was established in 2004 and accredited in 2005. UKCPH is dedicated to developing transformative solutions to health challenges through teaching, research, and service efforts that enhance the health status and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. The academic departments represented in the College include Biostatistics; Epidemiology & Environmental Health; Health, Behavior & Society; and Health Management and Policy, who all work together to build public health champions.
