Janice Miller, MPH, MSW has worked for more than 30 years on emergency and long-term housing solutions with a particular emphasis on people experiencing intimate partner and sexual violence (IPSV).  Ms. Miller is an accomplished consultant and trainer, working both in person and virtually across the country.  Ms. Miller currently works as a Senior Housing Associate for Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. (TAC) providing training, consulting and technical assistance to States, communities, and individual programs on topics ranging from trauma informed care, addressing unsheltered homelessness, housing protections under the Violence Against Women Act, and partnership strategies to strengthen and align housing services. Recent work includes leading a comprehensive assessment of a mid-size New England city’s response to homelessness; working with the State of Maryland on expansion of their Medicaid assisted housing program, ACIS; and ongoing work with a mid-size Midwestern city to streamline safe access to housing for survivors of IPSV. She is an active research partner on issues of IPSV and Housing, currently working on a collaborative project to increase housing and service options for women with HIV who are also experiencing IPSV. 

Prior to joining TAC, Ms. Miller worked as a Director with the House of Ruth Maryland, creating and scaling up their statewide Safe Homes Strong Communities rapid rehousing program and Victim Coordinated Entry program for the Baltimore City Continuum of Care.  She served as a Baltimore City CoC Board member for six years, and presided as Chair for two. 

Ms. Miller is one of the Bloomberg American Health Initiative Fellows, graduating with her Masters in Public Health and a Certificate in Injury and Violence Prevention in 2021.  She received a 2022 MPH Capstone Award for Outstanding Achievement for her original research on the magnitude of undercounting for persons experiencing intimate partner violence and homelessness in Maryland.
