Farrell is a Quality Improvement Manager for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. She supports the work of health providers to ensure safer and more supportive services for some of Georgia's most vulnerable residents. In her role, Farrell manages projects aimed at providing oversight, analyzing incident data, and reporting on key indicators related to the prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. She also works to strengthen technical assistance related to person-centered services, with the goal of helping providers create service environments that support community life, autonomy, and rights. Farrell leverages her background in violence prevention, harm reduction, LGBTQ community services, and sexuality education to help strengthen cultures of dignity and safeguarding.
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is Georgia's public safety net agency that provides services for individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and intellectual or developmental disabilities. It operates state hospitals and a network of community-based service providers, offering a continuum of care aimed at helping people achieve recovery, independence, and a high quality of life.
