Daniel Webster, ScD

One of the nation’s leading experts in firearm policy and the prevention of gun violence, Daniel Webster, ScD, MPH, is a Bloomberg Professor of American Health and a Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. He is the Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research. Dr. Webster’s primary research interests include the prevention of gun violence, gun policy, gun acquisition and carrying by underage youth and other prohibited persons, intimate partner violence, and youth violence prevention. He developed one of the first courses on violence prevention in a school of public health. Dr. Webster was also co-editor and contributor to Reducing Gun Violence in America: Informing Policy and Evidence and Analysis (JHU Press, 2013).
