Family and Community Outreach (FCO) is a department within the greater Polk County Government system. The strength of their department is rooted in relationships with other organizations, schools, faith entities and the clients they serve. The overall goal of FCO is that “All People are Empowered and Healthy.” To achieve this goal, FCO works closely with groups and individuals across the county to learn their needs and develop not only solutions but preventative measures for future needs. FCO is a hub within their region; their model supports the community within a variety of areas including Veteran’s services, suicide prevention, evidence-based parenting education, youth substance risk reduction, mental health, workforce development, housing stability and resource connection to vital partner agencies.
