Colin Myers

Colin Myers is a Research Project Coordinator with the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In his current position, he works on NIH funded randomized controlled trials with active clinical populations, implementing complex protocols that integrate laboratory testing, app-based data collection, and remote medication administration and compliance. His work involves interdisciplinary coordination across clinical and pharmacy teams, with current research foci that include a strategy for pain management in people with opioid use disorder and opioid withdrawal as a treatment target. Myers has also contributed to numerous initiatives to support general business operations of the Institute, including drafting standard operating procedures and building databases to fulfill broader research and administrative needs.

The Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine is a translational research institute within the University of Maryland School of Medicine that is dedicated to transforming addiction research, prevention, treatment, and education across Maryland and throughout the world. The Institute supports research from discovery to recovery, drawing together experts across the continuum of addiction research from basic science to clinical research and medical practice. Central to the Institute’s mission of innovation in addiction medicine is an emphasis on back translation from persons with lived experience into the laboratory to inform new transformative treatment interventions and to spur the systemic change necessary to combat the generational challenge of addiction.
