Cody Bloomfield is the Summer Nutrition Specialist at Hunger Solutions New York with a portfolio consisting of Summer EBT and the Summer Food Service Program. Her work focuses on supporting schools and community-based organizations as they navigate program participation and perform outreach to families and children in their communities. Due to Hunger Solutions New York’s strong relationships with state agencies, she also works to elevate stakeholder experience and advocate for administrative improvements. As a member of the Public Affairs team, Cody engages in legislative advocacy regularly at both the state and federal level, most notably supporting New York’s push for Healthy School Meals for All. Cody’s extensive experience in farming and food service served as the levers that guided her to policy work.
Hunger Solutions New York is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger. Formed in 1985, Hunger Solutions New York strives to maximize participation in, and support for, federally funded nutrition assistance programs including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program, the Summer Food Service Program, Summer EBT, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and the Child and Adult Care Food Program. We advocate for policies and legislation to improve nutrition assistance programs at local, state, and federal levels. In consultation with federal and state administering agencies, partner organizations, and local providers, we develop public policy recommendations to reduce hunger in New York State.
