Chtaura Jackson

Chtaura Jackson is an Environmental Epidemiologist with the Fairfax County Health Department, where she addresses environmental exposures, vector-borne and zoonotic diseases, and climate-related health risks. She leads investigations into vector-borne and zoonotic diseases, evaluates environmental contaminants such as elevated childhood lead levels, and examines how climate factors, including extreme heat, are reshaping health outcomes. She translates environmental data into actionable strategies that improve health outcomes, strengthen public health preparedness, and advance health equity in vulnerable communities. Prior to the Fairfax County Health Department, she served as a Communicable Disease Epidemiologist in Richmond and Henrico Health Districts and supported tropical and neglected tropical disease programs across Sub-Saharan and East Africa. She brings a global, equity-centered perspective to building resilient, data-driven public health systems.
