Braden Hickey

Alumni

Braden is an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) currently serving with the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service in New Mexico. She is currently located in Taos, NM and provides direct environmental health services to three tribal communities. The Environmental Health Services (EHS) program is a division of the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEHE) wherein Environmental Health Services staff work directly with tribal communities and programs to prevent disease and injury by implementing the core public health functions of assessment, policy development, and assurance.

Prior to working for the Indian Health Service, she was a Sanitarian at the Peoria City/County Health Department in Illinois. Braden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from Illinois State University, during which she completed the Commissioned Officer Student Training Extern Program (COSTEP) with the Indian Health Service in Gallup, NM.

Braden is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS). Additionally, she is a Child Passenger Safety Technician and a Certified Playground Safety Inspector which supports the injury prevention program within EHS.
