In addition, she leads a youth program that introduces young people to public health and supports their growth as community leaders. Through partnerships and culturally relevant programming, Asmaa works to ensure that youth have the tools, relationships, and support they need.
The UC San Diego Center for Community Health (CCH) is an institutional and community-centered resource hub that deploys evidence-based health practices, technical assistance, and capacity-building. CCH co-creates solutions with community partners by honoring their expertise and ensuring access to resources and decision-making power. CCH’s work addresses social determinants of health through evidence-based practices and coalition-building efforts. Housed within one of the nation’s leading public universities, CCH leverages the expertise of driven researchers and healthcare providers who are deeply committed to community engagement. As a trusted connector across healthcare, research, and community sectors, CCH breaks down silos between community-based organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
