Angelica Terepka

Dr. Angelica Terepka (she/they) is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and advocate, currently serving as Director of Psychology at Elmhurst Hospital, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a first-generation Polish immigrant and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Dr. Terepka’s lived experience fuels a commitment to advancing mental health care for underserved and diverse populations. Their expertise spans trauma-focused therapy, LGBTQIA+ clinical care, and clinical training, with a focus on integrating best practices in equity and inclusion into healthcare. Dr. Terepka leads initiatives such as Pride Health Services and Elmhurst Suicide Prevention in Youth, two programs aimed at decreasing health disparities amongst marginalized populations through community outreach, prevention, and direct services. 

New York City Health + Hospitals | Elmhurst Hospital in Queens NY serves one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse communities in the U.S., caring for nearly one million residents from across the globe. The hospital is recognized for its culturally sensitive care, particularly in mental health and women’s and children’s health, and offering comprehensive specialty services. Initiatives for suicide prevention and heart health address disparities in healthcare, while the focus on "healthcare for all" ensures staff provide affirming, accessible services to immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other underserved groups. Elmhurst’s commitment to equity, language access, and community partnerships helps reduce health disparities, fosters trust, and improves outcomes for marginalized populations, making it a vital resource for New York City’s diverse residents.
