The Penn Medicine Center for Health Equity Advancement (CHEA) is a nationally recognized center situated within a large health system with a vision to advance health equity through research, clinical care and operations, workforce development, community partnerships, and public health policy. Our work is grounded in evidence-based methodologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a data-driven approach to addressing disparities in healthcare delivery, outcomes, and access. CHEA aims to addresses social drivers of health, like food access, through innovative social accountability programs such as the Food Access Support Technology (FAST) and the Social Needs Response Team, which combines education and service delivery through prioritizing patient care with immediate benefits alongside student learning.
