Almost 3 out of 4 people who attempt suicide visited their primary care doctor in the month before the attempt, but it’s only recently that clinicians have started to receive training to screen for suicide risk. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and the American Health Podcast is marking this important time with podcasts focusing on research and evidence-based practices around suicide prevention. In Part 4, we'll talk about resources available to help clinicians screen for suicide risk.
