Environmental Challenges

The Environment and Our Health

December 11, 2018

On November 29 and 30, 2018, the Bloomberg American Health Initiative and Bloomberg Philanthropies convened the inaugural Bloomberg American Health Summit in Washington D.C. The Summit brought together innovators, experts, practitioners and policymakers from around the country, to focus on ways to tackle some of the toughest challenges facing health in the United States: addiction and overdose, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, risks to adolescent health, and violence.

At the Summit, Ana V. Diez Roux, Dean and Distinguished University Professor of Epidemiology at the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, spoke about how profoundly the environment impacts our health in a wide variety of ways.
