Two years ago, with life expectancy in the U.S. declining, Bloomberg Philanthropies gave a transformational gift to create the Bloomberg American Health Initiative. The goal: use the tools of public health to address some of the issues driving the decline: Addiction & overdose, Environmental Challenges, Obesity & the Food System, Risks to Adolescent Health, Violence. We talk to Dr. Josh Sharfstein about the Initiative & about a new journal supplement that provides a road map for tackling these challenges.
