Policy Packages aim to support solutions that improve health, equity, and well-being in communities nationwide.
BRINGING RECESS TO SCHOOLS
Providing a break for recess for elementary and middle school children is a proven, low-cost strategy to boost their physical health, mental well-being, social development, and academic performance.
The Play, Policy, and Potential: A Toolkit to Support Advancing Recess in Schools Through State Laws Policy Package provides resources for developing state-level policies that support access to recess. The Policy Package includes: model recess legislation, a state-by-state analysis of current recess policies, coalition-building strategies, op-ed writing tips, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Restorative practices teach individuals how to communicate clearly, strengthen relationships, and create a community where all members are valued.
Connected and Thriving: A Policy Toolkit for Expanding the Use of Restorative Practices in School Districts, provides school district leaders, policymakers, and advocates with the resources they need to bring restorative practices to schools in their community. The policy package includes: model school district policy, a snapshot of 20 school districts and their states policies, a sample student focus group guide, and op-ed writing tips.
