Dr. Latimore is the Public Sector Initiatives Lead for the Bloomberg American Health Initiative where she works directly with public officials to support evidence-based practice, policy and programs. She has worked in the public sector in Baltimore City as the Director of Social Epidemiology and Evaluation, leading behavioral health projects at the Baltimore City Health Department as well as the City’s behavioral health authority. Projects include using tech innovations to conduct and disseminate overdose hot-spotting analyses, capturing behavioral health performance measures using Medicaid claims data, and examining barriers to service utilization at the scene of an overdose. Dr. Latimore is also faculty in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she continues to emphasize, in and out of the classroom, the use of data, authentic community collaboration and engagement of those with lived experience in opioid-related policy and practice.
